I am a Certified Master Fine Paints of Europe (FPE) applicator offering a working contractor's perspective on applying and selling FPE. Whether you are in retail or in the field, selling FPE well is essential. Application skill matters, but it only pays off when you can sell the work properly. I bring more than 25 years of selling and application experience, plus over 12 years of consulting, to every consultation day.

Flat fee. Includes the consultation, travel, lodging, food, and all expenses. Payment in full is due at booking. Bookings require at least 30 days between booking and the consultation date.

Marketing
Website design, marketing strategies, the power of social media, previous client follow up, job conclusion, farming the local area, clothing, vehicle lettering and signage, designers and architects, sample boards, utilizing FPE.
Administration
Simple bidding, protocols and procedures, itineraries, administrative logistics, utilizing technology, employee training, FPE etiquette.
Product Knowledge
Hollandlac, Eurolux, ECO, primers and varnishes, sundries.
Product Application
Prep procedures, dust remediation, vacuum, floor protection, tools and machines of the trade, application procedures, shop tips, on-site tips.
How It Works
- Book a date at least 30 days out and pay in full.
- Complete the short pre-consultation questionnaire.
- I review your answers and tailor the day to your shop.
- We work through product knowledge, application, marketing, and FPE etiquette together, in person.
- Add a second consecutive day if you want to go deeper.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Fine Paints of Europe just that shiny, expensive stuff?
Absolutely not. The line covers a wide range of products and sheens, including the UNI waterborne-build universal primer and the high-build solvent-borne Alkyd Undercoated primer, Eurolux acrylic interior wall paint in satin, matte, and flat, and ECO, a low-odor, water-twinable urethane alkyd for trim, doors, shutters, and walls. All of it can be tinted to any color. Applied correctly, FPE has about the same square-foot coverage as most domestic premium products.
What is the secret to a smooth, nearly dust-free Hollandlac Brilliant finish?
There is no secret. A near-flawless finish depends on equipment, technique, and environmental conditions, and no single formula covers all of it. It is an art form that goes beyond product specifications, which is why I teach it in person.
Why don't FPE or my local retailer explain Hollandlac application beyond the spec sheet?
Legal liability keeps them to the manufacturer's intended use. For manufacturer specifications, ask FPE. For what I have learned working beyond those specifications, ask me.
Do contractors mainly profit from Hollandlac Brilliant?
No. Most long-term profit comes from UNI or Alkyd Undercoated primers, Eurolux, and ECO. Once customers experience those products, upselling Hollandlac becomes much easier.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Cancel more than 30 days before your consultation date and you receive a full refund. Within 30 days, the fee is non-refundable but can be rescheduled, because travel costs are locked in by then. See the Terms of Service for details.
I am not on Fine Paints of Europe's payroll and I am not an employee of Fine Paints of Europe. I am an independent contractor. Other than being hired for some retail consultations, FPE and I are not legally bound. We are two separate entities, including the information we provide. My consultations share my own experience, good and bad, along with what I have learned from others. Individual results may vary.
